The Armendaris Ranch is proud to once again offer an opportunity for a desert bighorn youth hunter. Eligible youth must be UNDER 18 years of age ON opening day of the hunt and possess a hunter safety certificate. This will be the third youth hunt since the introduction of bighorn sheep 18 years ago to the Fra Cristobal Mts, located on Ted Turner’s Armendaris Ranch. The hunt will be staffed and guided by ranch personnel with meals and housing provided. The season dates are expected to be October 31- November 15, 2014.(subject to change) This is the largest population of desert sheep in New Mexico. All the income generated from the sale of this hunt will go to youth outdoor experience programs as awarded by a committee composed of the NM Chapter of the WSF (a non-profit 501-C-3 organization) and Turner Enterprises, Inc representatives.
This program is in combination with an additional public draw youth hunt that takes place in the same time frame. To date, all of our guided rifle hunters have taken rams with an average B&C score of 174.
The Beau Turner Youth Conservation Center, Armendaris Ranch and Wild Sheep Foundation are joining up to make this hunt possible. Please inquire regarding questions and expectations for this hunt. Hunters will be responsible for their transportation to the ranch (or Truth or Consequences airport), state license fees ($165.00 for resident and $3,184.00 for non-resident, subject to change) and for shipping of capes and meat.

A 5% buyers premium will be added to the final bid price of each special permit sold, unless prohibited by statute. Proceeds will be dedicated to WSF Conservation Initiatives. If the winner of this item refuses to pay the premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid.
