Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is pleased again to have WSF auction the bighorn sheep auction permit for 2012. The permit is for one California bighorn sheep. Anyone is eligible to bid, regardless if you've harvested a bighorn in Washington. The successful bidder will be issued a license and tag, and will be able to hunt Selah Butte (Sheep Unit 4), Umtanum (Sheep Unit 5), Cleman Mountain (Sheep Unit 7), Quilomene (Sheep Unit 13), Tieton (Sheep Unit 15), and Manson (Sheep Unit 16) sheep units. The auction permit hunter can hunt from September 1 to December 31, 2012; that's two weeks earlier than the general bighorn permit season! WSF retains 10% of the auction purchase price.
