JACK CREEK PRESERVE FOUNDATION

P: 406.682.3358
DONATION: 6-day rifle only hunt on 5,000 acre private property, The Jack Creek Preserve. This connects the south and north units of the 259,000 acre Lee Metcalf Wilderness in Montana. Due to very restricted hunting pressure on the preserves property and surrounding public and private land, trophy quality is extremely high. Access to Preserve and the surrounding land is limited by a gated road running from Ennis to Big Sky resulting in almost no public pressure on the surrounding public land. The Jack Creek Preserve, in partnership with the Wild Sheep Foundation and other conservation organizations will be hosting multiple (6) day educator conservation camps in the summer of 2019. The money raised through the sale of this hunt will go toward the funding of scholarships for teachers to attend this camp at little or no cost. While attending the camp at the Preserve, they will learn about the importance of hunter based conservation and about the conservation work that the Wild Sheep Foundation performs. Not only will you get to visit one of the most spectacular areas in the lower 48 and hunt elk, but you will be helping a great cause by the funding of these educator scholarships!
DATES: Approximate season dates are October 20, 2019- November 24, 2019, you will pick a 6 day period in this timeframe.

SPECIAL NOTES: Each year the preserve offers (2) archery hunters and (1) rifle hunter access to the property to help fund its conservation education activity. In past auctions, this hunt has sold for prices as high as $22,500 and has never sold for less than $10,000. The average elk taken over the last 10 years of archery and rifle hunting has scored near 350. In 2016, one of the archery hunters took a bull scoring 371” and past year’s rifle hunter took a monster 8X7 elk as well as a great mule deer. Every year, elk over 370” mark are taken from this property or the surrounding area. The largest mule deer harvested scored 208” P&Y points, with a number of 160”-180” class deer taken in recent years. This game management unit is associated with the statewide elk and deer combo tag. Non-resident drawing odds are nearly 100%. We have not had a hunter not draw a tag, but will reschedule you to 2020 if that were to happen. Drawing is March 15, 2019.
