DONATION: “Lion in Wait” includes black floating frame, 23 Karat gold leaf name plaque and certificate of authenticity. Name plaque engraved with Daniel Earl Devine - Wild Encounters Collection. Limited edition, signed and numbered. Dan’s paintings show wildlife encounters in their natural habitat. The paintings are action oriented and the viewer is in anticipation of a climactic moment unfolding. Creating true to life drama. He paints using similar techniques as the old masters. Laying down layers of dark background. Then layering on light and color. Finishing with a flat or gloss varnish. He paints with Windsor and Newton Sceptre Gold II [0000] brushes, or Windsor Newton University Series [000] for the most part. Which are the smallest brushes on the spectrum. While standing, he paints using a magnification lamp in order to capture the desired detail. The paintings are done in oils. On double primed extra fine Caravaggio linen canvas. It takes him approximately three months to complete a 20” x 30” painting. It is a very labor intensive process.
