In 2011, WSF and CIC signed an MOU that led to the publication of the CIC World Caprinae Atlas. Published in 2014, the Atlas outlines the population distribution ranges of wild Caprinae phenotypes and, through stunning photographs, details the physical appearance, life history, conservation status, and sustainable uses of wild sheep and goats throughout their range.
Recently, WSF and CIC decided to expand their cooperation by renewing their MoU which includes activities related to the conservation of Eurasian Mountain sheep and goat species. CIC and WSF have extensive experience working in Eurasia for the conservation of wildlife and local communities supporting these countries in implementing their commitments under International Conventions, such as CITES, CBD, and CMS.
In particular, WSF and CIC have begun effective collaboration in Central Asia, and initiatives are being developed with the leadership of these countries to establish sustainable hunter-funded conservation programs, with the focus on Argali, Ibex, Saiga Antelope and Maral.
CIC President Dr. Philipp Harmer has donated an alpine chamois tag in Austria, on his personal hunting grounds. A breathtaking hunting area in a high Alpine landscape with unique nature and wildlife. This area is closed to commercial hunters and is only used on special occasions for family and friends of the CIC President. Now is your opportunity to experience Imperial Austria and secure the future of hunting in Europe and Asia. The best time to hunt chamois is August to November. Two days of hunting with very experienced guides, and 2 nights’ charming accommodation on a full board basis within the hunting area.
Includes transfer to the hunting area and back to the airport by CIC staff. All transport with the hunting area by 4x4. Also included is the Austrian hunting license, the first preparation of trophies (cleaning and bleaching, a Veterinary certificate, export papers (customs declarations, etc.), a non-hunting observer and an exclusive 2-day cultural program is free of charge.
