The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society is proud to bring the 2025 Colorado Statewide Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep license to the Wild Sheep Foundation Convention. Colorado boasts a herd of over 7,500 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep statewide. There have been numerous rams taken in Colorado that qualify for Boone and Crockett as well as Pope and Young. In fact, since 2005 Colorado is second only to Montana in the U.S. in the number of B&C bighorn sheep entries. Over the past few years, the auction and raffle rams were harvested from 12 different game management units, attesting to the excellent quality throughout the state. The statewide sheep hunters each shot rams of 180”+ and the 2024 rams both scored over 190”. The winner of this license will have the opportunity to pursue a Rocky Mountain bighorn ram for approximately a five-month time frame. The season start dates are unit and weapon-specific and may open as early as August 1, 2025 with the added benefit of a closing date of December 31, 2025. Most regular seasons close around the first week of October, but the winner of this tag will be allowed to hunt during the rut and may be the only sheep hunter in the field. Guiding/outfitting is not included with the purchase of this license. This license is not valid for the harvest of a desert bighorn sheep and is not transferable to another person.
