SPECIAL NOTES: Come and stay at a private historic Plantation in South Carolina for a duck hunting weekend. White House Plantation is a Land Grant from King Charles of England in 1697 to Edmond Bellinger, an English sea captain. The Plantation has weathered many wars; from being attacked and burned by the Yemassee Indians, again during the Revolutionary War, and finally the Civil War. The 1911 hurricane marked the end of the Rice Plantation Era in the Carolinas.

The rice impoundments are still being used today for duck hunting in the Eastern Atlantic Flyway for family and guests. This plantation is located in the A.C.E. Basin (Ashepoo, Combahee and Edisto rivers) 350,000 protected acres of Federal, State, and private lands held in Conservation Easements.

ITENERARY
You will be picked up at the Charleston International Airport in Charleston, South Carolina or privately from the FBO at the Walterboro Regional Airport. Your stay will include deluxe accommodations with private en suite bathrooms in guest houses.

Friday evening you will be hosted by Linda and Bill Demmer at the Main House for an evening pizza party, creating your own pizzas using in-house pizza oven with fine wines, cocktails and lively conversations. You will meet your guides this evening.

Saturday morning you will wake up to early morning coffee and pastries and then off duck hunting. Each Hunter will have a separate guide and impoundment and you will be ferried out to your duck blind in an Argo. At the end of the hunt, you will be hosted at the Dining Hall for a delicious breakfast and warm up next to a fire.

During the afternoon, you will get a cocktail tour of the overall property: through the Quail woods, Dove Fields and historic Rice impoundments… all comfortably riding on a southern Quail Wagon. Some of the sites that you will visit will be an enslaved people cemetery, an historic walled garden from the 1700s, and dovecotes located on the Plantation.

The planation is the home to an enclosed aviary for raising free roaming Peacocks and peahens, which you will observe on their daily lawn walkabouts! This plantation is privately gated.

Saturday evening will include fine dining at the Main House, ending the evening gathered around a fire pot.

Sunday morning again you awaken to fresh coffee and pastries… duck hunting… and then a delicious brunch before you depart.

This will be an unforgettable experience at this southern historic plantation which is privately held and not open to the public…bid lively!
