The Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) and the Seri Community have again entered into an agreement for WSF to be the principle selling agent for the harvest of desert bighorn sheep on Tiburon Island. WSF will offer six (6) Tiburon tags for the November 19, 2012 – March 31, 2013 season –four(4) will be sold during our 2012 Reno convention and two (2) will be sold though our chapter network. This is a 15-day fully outfitted hunt for one hunter and one non hunting companion. Additional non hunting companions maybe added at $1,500 per person. The highest winning auction bidder will have first choice of the WSF hunt dates with successive buyers in bid order choosing remaining dates. Two hunters will be on the island during each hunt period although they will be in separate camps and hunt separate areas. In 1998 WSF helped to open desert sheep hunting on the island and nearly each year a Tiburon Island ram has taken the silver or gold award for desert bighorn sheep in both the archery and the firearms categories. These rams include numerous rams in the high 170s and 180s and one exceptional trophy scoring over 190 B&C points. In the 2010-2011 seasons a buyer took a ram scoring 182 4/8 B&C, making it the New World Record with a muzzleloader. In the same season, other numerous 180+ rams were taken including a 187 1/8 B&C and 186 3/8 B&C. Starting with the 2010-2011 desert sheep hunting season, The Wild Sheep Foundation and Desert-Hunt, operated by Braulio and Luis Romero, have formed a partnership to conduct all government sanctioned hunting on Tiburon Island. Both WSF and Desert-Hunt are committed to conserving the exceptional sheep resource on the Island while preserving the special hunting opportunity it offers while also ensuring community development programs for the Seri Community owners of this treasured landscape. Desert-Hunt is renowned for providing exceptional desert sheep hunts, flawless and effortless permit processing and prides itself with camps and cuisine that rival the best in North America. You will experience an East African style safari while on your Tiburon Island hunt with WSF and Desert-Hunt. The revenue obtained from these permits is used to fund wildlife conservation projects on the island and social and community development programs in the local indigenous community. Here is your chance to hunt the famed Tiburon Island!
